University Medical Center New Orleans
Located in downtown New Orleans, UMCNO is the main hub for resident experiences in Gynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Urogynecology and the Emergency Department. The Level 1 Trauma Center opened its doors on August 1, 2015 and contains 446 inpatient beds and 23 operating room suites. The facility is enormous - with a footprint spanning 2.3 million square feet, at a cost of $1.1 billion, and was built with disaster preparedness in mind.
The outpatient Women's Health clinic is also located at UMCNO in the multispecialty clinic building that houses nearly 400 exam rooms. Our residents participate in a variety of clinics at UMCNO including general obstetrics and gynecology, Urogyn, menopause, complex family planning, colposcopy, and high-risk OB. In addition, the Cancer Center provides state of the art, comprehensive care for patients with gynecologic malignancies.
UMCNO serves as an important referral center for patients from community hospitals throughout the region.
