Touro Infirmary
Located in uptown New Orleans, Touro is home to our Obstetrical rotations along with Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology opportunities. The Family Birthing Center offers diverse birthing experiences, a Level III NICU, specialized lactation services, and MFM consultation for care of high-risk pregnancies.
Touro is honored to have recently been recognized by The Joint Commission for exceptional maternal healthcare. The Joint Commission’s Maternal Levels of Care (MLC) Verification program, offered in collaboration with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), has named Touro as a Level IV maternal care verified facility, becoming the first hospital in the state to achieve this level.
As a Level IV facility, Touro has demonstrated it can provide on-site medical and surgical care for the most complex maternal conditions and critically ill pregnant women and fetuses throughout antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
Touro also recognizes the importance of minimally invasive surgery and supports the use of the da Vinci Surgical System for use by residents and faculty for gynecologic procedures.
