RESIDENCY APPLICATION PROCESS
Beginning with the July 2025 application cycle, all OBGYN residency programs across the nation will have transitioned to the Residency Centralized Application System (Residency CAS) in place of ERAS. Applications will only be accepted through this system.
Our specialty participates in signaling. We use a holistic review process for screening applications. In line with LSU's committment to serving the people of Louisiana, applicants from Louisiana and/or who have completed their education in the state of Louisiana will take priority during the early stages of the screening process.
It it important to note that applicants must register for both the NRMP Match as well as Residency CAS. These are 2 seperate systems with 2 seperate registrations/fees.
REQUIREMENTS
- A completed Residency CAS application. Participation in the Match is mandatory to be considered for an interview.
- Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE)-released through CAS.
- An official medical school transcript.
- USMLE scores: A passing score on Step 1 is required for consideration to interview. Step 2 CK is not required at the time of application, but Step 2 scores are taken into consideration during the application review process.
- Three letters of recommendation from faculty members familiar with your performance are required. A chair letter from your Department of OBGYN is highly recommended. One of these letters should be a Standardized Letter of Evaluation (SLOE).
