How to Apply
Applying to the LSU Baton Rouge OBGYN Residency Program
Beginning with the July 2025 application cycle, all OBGYN residency programs across the nation will have transitioned to the Residency Centralized Application System (Residency CAS) in place of ERAS. Applications will only be accepted through this system.
We use a holistic review process for screening applications and incorporate signaling into that process. In line with LSU's committment to serving the people of Louisiana, applicants from Louisiana and/or who have completed their education in the state of Louisiana will take priority during the early stages of the screening process.
It it important to note that applicants must register for both the NRMP Match as well as Residency CAS. These are 2 seperate systems with 2 seperate registrations/fees. Below are our program identification numbers:

Application Requirements
In addition to the standard Residency CAS application as noted above, the following are required to be considered for an interview with our program:

1 Standard Letter of Evaluation - SLOE

2 Additional Recomendation Letters (applicants are highly encouraged to seek 1 of these letters from the Chair of the Department of OBGYN at their medical school)

2 years is the maximum amount of time after completion of medical school to be considered for an interview. During those 2 years, you must have evidence of participation in clinical work, research, or graduate level education with one of your letters of reccomendation coming from one of these sources (foreing medical school graduates must have at least one month of actue clinical service in the United States, accompanied by a letter of reccomendation from the Program Director).

A passing score on Step 1 and 2 (our program accepts both USMLE and COMLEX)

Evidence of a committment to and interest in our patient population as well as participaton in and appreciation of diversity
Interviews
All interviews will be virtual. All applicants will interview with the Program Director, Associate Program Director, 2 program faculty, and at least 1 chief resident. There will also be dedicated time to spend with our residents on each interivew day. Interviews will be on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons only.
Important Dates
The dates listed below provide our review process and interview timeline in chronological order for your convenience. We adhere to the APGO-CREOG and ACOG Transition to Residency national standards for interviews, therefore all interviews will be virtual.
Wednesday, September 25 - Program application deadline
Monday, October 7 - Application review begins
Tuesday, October 29 - Earliest date of the first wave of interview invitations released to applicants
Tuesday, November 5 thru Thursday, January 9 - Virtual interviews
