Impact on Louisiana and Beyond

As an affiliate of the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, we have an additional mission beyond that of medical education and service, a mission of producing highly skilled physicians that remain in-state beyond residency and provide excellent health care to the citizens of Louisiana. The majority of physicians who completed their Ob/Gyn training at LSUHSC in Baton Rouge currently practice in Louisiana. We are proud of our former graduates, as many have distinguished themselves by the level of care they provide and by the leadership roles they have assumed, both on a local or statewide level. Though our program prepares graduated for generalist OBGYN practice, our graduates land in private practice, public health, medical administration, academic medicine, and post-residency fellowships (MFM, Gyn Onc and REI). We are happy to support our residents in the pursuits of their post-residency employment and education.
