"I see a future as an Ob/Gyn educator, advocate, and primary provider. As I strive to offer my future patients the best care, I seek to contribute to the advancement of the field through uncovering important associations that can better guide prevention and treatment. Simultaneously I seek to support generations of women in their reproductive goals and well beyond their reproductive years."
Dr. Laura Molina is very passionate about patient education and advocacy. She chose this program because she had a strong desire to continue working with complex and underserved populations, serving as their voice and an additional source of support. Through her medical school's OBGYN interest group, she helped pioneer efforts to promote health education among women and adolescent girls in the South Florida community through interactive workshops surrounding cervical cancer screening, birth control and STI prevention.
Laura is a natural leader. Emigrating at a young age from Colombia, Laura aims to
promote diversity within medicine and increase opportunities in the field for Latino
students, having been a co-founder of her medical school's first society for Latino students (LMSA) and long-time executive board member. Laura helped pioneer the development of a Health Systems STEM track in a predominantly Hispanic High School during medical school, which offered individualized mentorship and group workshops to increase exposure. Her interest in research earned her 13 poster presentations in medical school.
