"I am drawn to the continuity of care, preventative medicine, and surgical elements of OB/GYN; and I look forward to being an advocate for women and their reproductive rights."
Dr. Chandler Black worked as a medical assistant in a nine-physician gastroenterolgoy practice the year before medical school. Before beginning residency, she was already involved with research in our department as an LSU medical student working on a project which main focus was to determine the rates of trial of labor after cesarean (TOLAC) and successful vaginal births after
cesareans (VBAC) at Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA compared to national data.Since completing collegiate nutrition courses, Chandler has continued to integrate her interest in nutrition into her everyday life, including patient care. Some of her favorite recipes include fresh trout and redfish that she and her family catch along the Louisiana coast. On most Saturdays in medical school, you could find her at LSU's Student Run Community Clinic at Ozanam Inn, a homeless shelter in New Orleans. She was also inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha during medical school.
She and her husband live here in Baton Rouge, proud parents of 2 Doberman Pinschers.
