KAYLA SCHWARTZENBURG, MD

Dr. Kayla Schwartzenburg is a Baton Rouge native with deep purple and gold roots in her family. She is an avid LSU football fan. Dogs have been an important part of her life, and she fostered several puppies while in medical school - one of which found their furever home with Kayla. Devoted to the art of dance for 15 years, Kayla was a competitive dancer. 

While in medical school, Kayla was involved in numerous charity organizations and activities as a volunteer. She also completed sexual education training at the New Orleans Institute of Women and Ethnic Studies, a trauma-centered approach to providing accurate unbiased information regarding sexual health to adolescents and teenagers in the community. 

If she is not at work, she is probably shopping at TJ Maxx or out eating mexican food or sushi. She and her husband welcomed a baby boy during her intern year so he gets to enjoy these adventures with Mom, too.
