Bio

Marla Cannatella is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC).  She received her B.S. in Biochemistry from Louisiana State University, and her M.D. from LSUHSC in New Orleans.  Dr. Cannatella completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.  Her clinical activities focus on resident and medical student education as an attending on inpatient medicine ward teams and staffing general medicine outpatient clinics.  Dr. Cannatella is the coordinator of the department’s didactic journal club series.  Her professional interests include preventive medicine, medical statistics and research trial design, and hospital quality core measures.
