Interventional Radiology Residency Program

Welcome to the LSUHSC-NO Radiology Interest Group Page

The Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Interest Group (DIRIG) strives to inform members about the growing field of Radiology. With an outstanding faculty advisor and numerous wonderful guest speakers, DIRIG meetings help bridge the gap between students and working physicians.

Students who wish to join may email Summer Trusty at strus1@lsuhsc.edu. Students are invited to attend monthly research meetings with the IR department at UMC over Zoom, or in person if space allows. Recent opportunities have included LSUHSC's Interventional Radiology Tiger Course with hands on simulations, informative guest speakers, and an introduction to IR devices and medical rep software (a sponsored and catered event). Invitations are sent out regularly to both local and national radiology conferences and symposiums. This provides excellent networking opportunities. At the end of the year, DIRIG provides a panel of recently matched MS4s who provide insight into the application process.
