Why did you choose a career in pathology? What do you appreciate about pathology?

I first became captivated by pathology during my clinical rotations in medical school, drawn to the field’s broad spectrum and complexity. I am particularly fascinated by how diseases manifest under the microscope, revealing intricate patterns and vivid colors. Pathologists meticulously examine every tissue sample, searching for subtle signs of disease. I also appreciate that, with advances in molecular pathology, pathologists now play a crucial role in determining the most effective course of treatment for patients.

What do you like most about the LSU pathology residency program? What are your favorite rotations?

The LSU Pathology Residency Program offers numerous aspects that I find appealing. It not only provides a great learning environment with supportive faculty but also offers ample opportunities for research involvement. I also value the chance to work within a diverse cultural setting. Most importantly, the fellow residents are friendly and easygoing, which adds to the program's positive atmosphere.

What do you like most about New Orleans? Any favorite restaurants, musical festivals, museums, etc.? How do you spend your free time?

I particularly enjoy the food scene in New Orleans. The city offers a delightful mix of classic favorites and exciting new restaurants to explore. As a huge fan of bread, pastries, and desserts, I’m thrilled by the many exceptional patisseries and bakeries around town. Some of my favorite spots include Celtica, Ayu, Levee, and Bread on Oak for bread and pastries; Angelo Brocato and Sucré for desserts; and Piety and Desire for chocolate.
