•"Prediction of Final Gleason Score in Radical Prostatectomy Utilizing Global Gleason Score, Highest Gleason Score and Largest Volume Gleason Score Parameters in Needle Core Biopsies", authors: Dr. Asra Feroze, Dr. Julia Rivera, Dr. Yu Liu,Dr.  Haibo Wang, Dr. Ritu Bhalla, was not only presented in the Stowell-Orbison award category of posters but was selected as the first 6 best posters by the AIPNA (Association of Indian Pathologists in North America). Zaid Khreefa's, "Pathogenesis and Mechanisms of SARS-CoV-2 Infection in the Intestine, Liver, and Pancreas", published in the Cells Journal and selected as the cover.  January 2023


Jihuan Chen's poster, "A Rare Case of Primary Cardiac T-Cell Lymphoma in Immunocompetent Adult", selected as a blue ribbon finalist in the Case Study Category, ASCP 2022


Michael Webber's poster, "Benign Multicystic Peritoneal Mesothelioma as a Rare Cause of Death", selected as a blue ribbon finalist in the Case Study Category, ASCP 2022.

• Christopher Girardo, nominated as UMC Outstanding Resident of the Year (2021-2022).


• Liz Yang, nominiated as UMC Outstanding Intern of the Year (2021-2022).


• Dr. Ritu Bhalla-recipient of the UMC Attending Physician of the Quarter Award (January 2022).


• Christopher Girardo accepted a Clinical Informatics Fellowship at the LSU-Ochsner program in Shreveport (2022).


• Jack Harbert accepted a Hematopathology Fellowship at the University of Minnesota (2023).

• Bing Han, Gloria Sura, and Katherine Wang all passed their APCP boards (2021).

• Nibras Fakhri received the Jerome Smith Award (First Prize) for best infectious disease pathology poster, USCAP 110th Annual Meeting 2021.


• Nibras Fakhri's "Diagnostic Accuracy of Histochemical Stains in Identification of Mucormycetes" poster received the best poster award in the infectious disease section of USCAP (2021)


• Christopher Girardo and Hina Khokhar announced as Chief Residents for 2021

•  Nibras Fakhri accepted sequential fellowships at Methodist Houston (Weill Cornell) for Cytopathology (2022) and combined GU and Medical Renal Pathology (2023).


  Walter Beversdorf and Hina Khokhar had their poster, "A Rare Case of Acute Interstitial Pneumonia Diagnosed at Autopsy", selected as a blue ribbon finalist in the ASCP resident category. 2020
