Bio
Katherine LaVie is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine specializing in Infectious Diseases. She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a BA in Biochemistry and received her medical degree from the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in New Orleans. Dr. LaVie completed her Internal Medicine residency training and chief residency at LSUHSC in Baton Rouge. She subsequently completed an Infectious Diseases fellowship at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She spent an additional year as a clinical instructor within the Division of Infectious Diseases at UAB prior to joining the LSUHSC Baton Rouge faculty in 2018. She is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the HIV Medicine Association. She serves on the Our Lady of the Lake Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee. Her professional interests include the management of HIV and HIV-related complications in both the inpatient and ambulatory settings.
