Bio

Carl Giffin is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at LSUHSC in Baton Rouge.  He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Orleans with a B.S. in Biology and received his M.D. from the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans.  Dr. Giffin completed his residency training at the LSU Internal Medicine Residency in Baton Rouge and also served as a Chief Resident.  His clinical activities include supervision of residents and medical students in the inpatient and outpatient setting, as well as providing direct outpatient care for patients in a primary care setting. In addition, he coordinates the simulation lab curriculum for the Internal Medicine residents and students rotating in Baton Rouge.  His area of clinical interest is the management of hypertension in patients at high risk for cardiovascular events.  Dr. Giffin received multiple teaching awards from medical students and residents during his residency training.
