PAUL FAILLA, MD

Bio

Paul Failla is a Professor of Clinical Medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC).  He received a B.A. in Biological Sciences from the University of New Orleans, and his M.D. from LSUHSC in New Orleans.  Dr. Failla completed his Internal Medicine training and then a Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship at LSUHSC in New Orleans.  During that time, he received two American College of Physicians case presentation awards regarding Cytomegaloviral infection in HIV related disease and Capnocytophagia sepsis.  Dr. Failla directs clinical activity at the LSU Health - Our Lady of the Lake Pulmonary clinic.  He is also the clinical supervisor at the East Baton Rouge Regional Tuberculosis Health Unit.  Dr. Failla is one of Dr. George Karam’s original faculty members and has been an integral contributor to the growth of the program.  Dr. Failla is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
