STEPHEN BRIERRE, MD, FCCP

Bio

Stephen Brierre is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC).  He received his B.S. from University of Southwestern Louisiana, and his M.D. from LSUHSC in New Orleans.  Dr. Brierre completed his Internal Medicine Residency at LSUHSC in Baton Rouge, and a fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine at LSUHSC in New Orleans.  Dr. Brierre’s clinical activities include supervising the LSU Pulmonary and Critical Care teams at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and Baton Rouge General Hospital.  He is a member of the Faculty Assembly for LSUHSC, the Critical Care Committees for both Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and Baton Rouge General, and the Internal Research Oversight Committee.  Dr. Brierre has been accepted as a Fellow in the Academy for the Advancement of Educational Scholarship.  His research interests focus on critical care.  He is an investigator for the NIH/NHLBI sponsored ARDSnetwork, for which he serves on the Steering and Natural History Committees.  Dr. Brierre has received numerous teaching awards as a resident and faculty member, and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
