LSU Internal Medicine Residency Program
University Hospital & Clinics, Lafayette, LA

Welcome to the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Lafayette, Louisiana.  Under the leadership of Section Chief, Dr. Nick Sells, and Program Director, Karen Curry, opportunity for leadership, research, balanced with clinical autonomy and supervision are the keys to our outstanding graduate medical education program.  Our fully accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program provides residents with the essentials that go along with this ACGME designation while providing the humanitarianism and compassion that can only be cultivated in a place like “Cajun Country”.

As a major referral center in the LSU system for Southwest Louisiana, which itself boasts many diverse cultures, residents are exposed to a wide breadth of pathology.

In addition, our program is continually evolving to meet the ever-changing needs of our graduates and region.  With our partner, Lafayette General Medical Center, residents experience training in a multicenter, state of the art environment.

Thank you for your interest in our residency program.  We offer both Categorical track (3 years of training) and a Preliminary track (1 year of training).
