Clinical Curriculum

Internal Medicine (PGY 1):

During your internal medicine year, you will be working with our internal medicine faculty and residents. You will have a weekly continuity clinic with. Internal Medicine

  • Inpatient - 4 months
  • Neurology - 2 months
  • Night float - 1 month
  • MICU - 1 month
  • Infectious Disease - 1 month
  • Emergency Medicine - 1 month
  • Electives - 2 months
    • Cardiology
    • Gastroenterology
    • Hematology/Oncology
    • Nephrology

Adult Neurology (PGY 2):

Beginning in your PGY 2 year, you will begin to be exposed to a wide variety of neurological pathologies across our healthcare system.

  • Neurocritical Care at West Jefferson Medical Center - 2 months
  • Inpatient wards at University Medical Center - 3 months
  • Outpatient Clinic at Veteran Affairs Hospital - 4 months
  • Inpatient Child Neurology at Children's Hospital - 1 month
  • Vascular Neurology at Ochsner Medical Center - 1 month
  • Inpatient Psychiatry - 1 month
  • Adult Neurology (PGY 3)

Adult Neurology (PGY 3):

  • Inpatient wards at University Medical Center - 2 months
  • Outpatient at Veteran Affairs Hospital - 4 months
  • Inpatient Child Neurology at Children's Hospital - 1 month
  • Neurocritical Care at West Jefferson Medical Center - 1 month
  • Inpatient wards at Ochsner Kenner - 1 month
  • LSU multispecialty neurology clinics - 1 month
