VASCULAR SURGERY - ACADEMIC CONFERENCES

 

CASE CONFERENCE

Vascular Surgery Weekly Conference is held every Thursday at 6:30 a.m. at the LSUHSC Human Development Center. This resident-led conference features case presentations and pre-operative planning by Residents and Fellows. All New Orleans-based faculty are invited to participate in the discussion.

 

GUIDRY CONFERENCE

Vascular Surgery Weekly Didactic Conference is structured around the latest edition of Rutherford’s Vascular Surgery. Typically, 1–2 chapters are assigned each week. The conference is held every Wednesday in Baton Rouge, with residents rotating in New Orleans joining via video conference. Led by Associate Program Director, Dr. London Guidry, the session includes discussion of key concepts and practice questions to support VSITE preparation. The goal is to complete the entire Rutherford’s text over a two-year cycle.

ULTRASOUND CONFERENCE

Monthly Educational Conference dedicated to vascular ultrasound interpretation. The conference is typically held at West Jefferson Hospital and attended by New Orleans-based residents. Discussions are led by Dr. Tapash Palit, with assigned chapters from Pellerito’s Vascular Ultrasound. These sessions are focused on preparation for the RPVI exam, which is required for Vascular Surgery board certification.
