Educational Philiosophy
The program provides training to provide quality, compassionate care to all patients.
The training environment emphasizes service to the underserved and vulnerable populations of New Orleans, including the homeless, specific racial and ethnic populations, underinsured, substance abusers and prisoners.
Our aim in providing broad comprehensive educational experiences is to prepare the graduate for solo, group, or academic careers. The residents are will prepared for fellowship training in Procedural Dermatology, Dermatopathology, or Pediatric Dermatology.
A further aim is to instill a sense of loyalty in the graduates of the program by providing an exceptional residency. Many of our graduates sacrifice days from their private practices to supervise our residents in many clinics and support their alma matter.
