Ochsner Lafayette General also owns LGMD Physician Group, a non-profit corporation that operates and manages several physician clinics, including Family Medicine and Internal Medicine, as well as many specialists and surgeons. Ochsner Lafayette General helps patients participate in their own health care by offering My Health the online patient portal, allowing people to view lab results and medical information for each hospital in the Ochsner Lafayette General system. In continuous efforts to reach more patients, Ochsner Lafayette General helps facilitate telemedicine services to schools, businesses and government offices to make health care more accessible for people while at school or at work

Ochsner University Hospital & Clinics is a full-service, acute care hospital, licensed for 116 beds. We serve Acadiana's uninsured and under-insured population as well as those with private insurance. As an academic medical center, we are a destination of choice for exceptional healthcare, offering a wide breadth of medical services and experience. We are a teaching hospital and a leader in training the physicians of tomorrow. We are committed to providing the best care to our patients and helping them live their best lives.

We house a learning resource center to support the training, continuing education, research and clinical responsibilities of healthcare providers throughout the 13-parish region of southwest Louisiana. Ochsner University Hospital & Clinics provides multiple specialty services with board-certified medical staff working alongside our physicians sharing expertise and experiences to develop an individualized plan of care for our patients. 

Ochsner University Hospital & Clinics serves the region as its primary Graduate Medical Education center by training residents and fellows - cultivating physicians for the future. Graduate Medical Education (GME) refers to any type of formal medical education pursued after earning an MD or D.O. degree in the United States. Ochsner University Hospitals & Clinic offers an Urgent Care Walk-In Clinic that accepts Medicaid as well as private insurance. It is located in Building 10 behind the main hospital.
