About International Emergency MedicineAbout International Emergency Medicine

Experience in international medical settings can be practice- and life-changing.  The faculty of the International Emergency Medicine Division believe that thoughtful engagement on the global stage can promote bidirectional learning and strengthen patient care both here and abroad.  Our faculty benefit from national and international collaborations and are currently involved in local emergency care capacity building and educational programs in Haiti, Indonesia, Iraq, South Africa and Laos, among other locations.  Mentorship is an essential part of meaningful and positive international experiences.  We help residents pursue and prepare for experiences that are well suited to their career interests, capabilities and level of international experience.
