LSUHSC-Lafayette Department of Family Medicine Research and Scholarly Activity Requirements  

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and the Department of Family Medicine require that all Family Medicine Residents participate in research and scholarly activity projects.

All Residents are required to participate in a minimum of one quality improvement project during their training.

This requirement is intended to enhance the Resident's understanding of clinical practice and research methodology including; design, implementation, interpretation, and presentation of results. 

ACGME Requirements

(IV.D.3.a) Residents must participate in scholarship. (Core)

(IV.D.3.b) Residents should complete two scholarly activities, at least one of which should be a quality improvement project. (Outcome)

Department of Family Medicine Requirements
